India has 77 million persons suffering from diabetes mellitus as on 2017 IDF data, many persons are not detected with diabetes until their pancreatic abitity to produce insulin decreases by more than half, they stay in a prediabetic state live in a healthy manner for many years until they get diagnosed with diabetes.

Diabetic foot problems are commonest among persons affected with diabetes.

 

After many years of diabetes neuropathy once sets in , persons ability to feel is slowly lost,hence they don’t perceive any injury in the initial stages unless that skin break acts as a portal of entry for bacteria to get inside body and cause infection , so it is necessary to diabetic persons to take care of feet daily, which is regularly advised by diabetic doctor and foot doctors.

 

Diabetic foot care involves wearing diabetic socks for protecting the diabetic patients for preventing infection in initial stages.

Diabetic socks should provide right support for feet and ankle as comfortable and cozy, elastic in nature without being loose or too accommodative. Good branded high quality socks are not too tight , because tight socks can impede blood flow which can lead to friction or pressure blister at areas of tightness,diabetic socks should be light coloured since if any injury , it will stain making persons with diabetics to notice injury before it is getting infected so he could take treatement with doctor earlier to prevent infection.always use reputed branded light coloured socks which is not having too tight elastic banding at above ankle.

Diabetic socks should be light coloured and should be free from harmful dyes and aditives

Diabetic socks should not have seams that may injure feet.

Diabetic socks should have wider toe area to accomadate foot freely and breathe.

 

Diabetic socks plays a important role in diabetic foot care  preventing shoe bite injury, added able to notice any injury earlier due to stain in socks as they remove it daily, if they sustained any injury which they did not notice due to diabetic sensory loss,
